We are two Concordia film students making a film about teen sexuality. We are looking for actors to fill several short roles. There will be no nudity.

Synopsis: “Let’s Talk About Sex” is an exploration of teen sexuality. The topic will be presented through audio interviews with teens and short narrative portraits based on real experiences.

As this is a student production, no monetary remuneration will be possible but we can offer exposure (film festivals, internet, year-end screening), delicious meals, and your very own DVD of the final film!

Shooting will take place over one weekend in January and one in February. Dates are flexible and each character is only needed for one day.

Roles call for young actors but there’s no need to be the age or even close to it as long as you can appear it.

Roles:

JENNA: female 14 years old. She is very intelligent, but has lived a sheltered life because of her over-protective parents. She is curious about sex, but would never ask anyone about it. She is far from the point of becoming sexually active but is curious about her body and sexuality.

AMEENA: Female, 18 years old, Muslim. Beautiful and intelligent, but very insecure and nervous. Grew up in a very conservative household, but is a liberal thinker. She is currently experimenting with her attraction to girls by dating ASHLEY, which causes her a lot of guilt and anxiety.

ASHLEY: Female, 17 years old. Very independent and open-minded. She has been openly gay since she was 14 and was always accepted by her family and peers.

AMEENA’S MOM: Female, 30-50 years old, Muslim.

KYLE: Male, 16 years old. Recently raped by an acquaintance. This portrait explores his feelings rather than the incident itself. Voice acting is crucial for this role as the focus is on Kyle’s voice rather than his face.

DAMON and HAYLEY: Damon (Male, 16 years old) and Hayley (female, 15 years old) have been together for a year. Recently started having sex and are unsure about many things. Both come from families that don’t speak about sex and are therefore badly educated on safe sex and stds.

NURSE: Female, late 20s- 50s, nurse from a youth clinic. This part is a voice role for a phone conversation between a nurse, Damon and Hayley.
