This is not an open casting call, please see below "Method for Submission" for instructions. Please let us know which roles you're interested to audition for. This is a non-paid volunteer student production.

***ROLES***


DOCTOR
Male, 40-50. He is energetic and successful, very sporty and active.



OLD BENJAMIN
Male, 60-70s. He has an eccentric personality. He always seems good-natured and tries to impart his wisdom to the betterment of others, or so he believes.



YOUNG BENJAMIN
Male, 20-30s, he looks lean and fit; a lightweight. He participates in a boxing match in the film. Personality-wise, Benjamin is always up for a challenge and will often times get into bad situations without thinking.



LARA
Female, 9-12. She's somewhat of a tom-boy in personality, She always tends to believe the other kids when they tell her stories, even when they may sound unrealistic.



DEREK
Male, 16-18, He is Lara's older brother. He has a dry sarcastic humour and is not as gullible as his sister.



STEPHANIE
Female, 30-40s. She is a business executive that loves her Labrador dog Ripples.



LARRY
Male, 60-70s He's Young Benjamin's boxing coach. He is a little absurd, far fetched and also a drunk.



GEORGE
Male, 30-40s. He is a boxing referee that likes to leave fights up to the boxers more often than not.

Audition Dates: December 27, 28, 29. Auditions will take approximately 30 minutes.


Audition Location: Montreal, Concordia University, 7141 Sherbrooke Street West, Loyola Campus, CJ building (Communications Building), 2nd floor.


Filming Dates: January 28, 2010 to February 2, 2010. It will be 5 shooting days. Must be available for any of the days when we make the shooting schedule (you will be given enough advance notice).


Rehearsals will take place in pre-production a few weeks before shooting.


Rates: Experience, free food, DVD, this film is Unpaid


Markets: Film festivals, internet.

Synopsis for "DOWN AND OUT"

In a clinic waiting room, a young girl is waiting her turn at the doctor’s, afraid that the tooth she swallowed will grow out of her. Ben, an older gentleman, tries to reassure her by imparting his own wacky wisdom and experience.

Special Note

- Performers will be asked to present a 1 minute monologue (of any genre) for the audition.
